Ways to Lower Stress, X

Well guys, this makes a list of FOURTY stress relievers … FOURTY stress relievers in four days. I think we’re doing pretty well, there. Honestly though, did ANY of you try ANY of these tips? If I posted them, I either actually use them or tried to put them into use this week. Therefore, I have officially done FOURTY stress relieving techniques this week. I am damn proud of that!
~ Take four deep breaths. Right now. In through your nose (to filter out anything gross that might be in the air) and then out through your mouth. Imagine you’re blowing out all that stress that is in your body. It is proven that four deep breaths (long, steady, and full) will help lower your blood pressure and your heart rate – those definitely make your stress level lower!
~ Write. I use this journal, my and my own personal blog (email me if you really feel the need to see it) as therapeutic stress relievers. I write about everything … and it always helps me feel better about the stressful events of my life!
~ Talk! Along the same lines as “write, I absolutely encourage talking. Whether you talk through email or over the phone, talk to someone about your stress. This talking can help clear your mind of any confusion you may have regarding a situation and then you can concentrate on solving the problem at hand!
~ The biggest stress reliever I think I’ve ever encountered was actually leaving a stressful situation. While it wasn’t my choice, I left an incredibly stressful marriage and moved on. I KNOW that my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health has improved ten-fold (if not hundred-fold) since that. If your job stresses you out, start looking elsewhere. If your marriage stresses you out, start some counseling (I don’t recommend giving up or walking out like it happened with me). If your family stresses you out, ask them to back off for a bit. Leaving a stressful situation with definitely lower your overall stress level! I promise!
