Ways to Lower Stress, VII
And we continue … I’m working towards having a 40-piece arsenal of ways to lower stress!
~ Write things down! How many of you forget what you’re doing daily because you aren’t writing it down? I use my day planner like my Bible … no joke. Every single day is scribbled on this week in my day planner. I write everything in it. There are probably 20 emails of classmates on certain days in my day planner to remind me to email them things. If I write it done, I know it’ll get done!
~ My mom once told me “do nothing, which after you do, leads you to lie to me, and I think that’s true for every action you take. Don’t do things that are going to make you have to lie to anyone … it’s just one more thing to remember and not nice anyway!
~ Have an extra house key, car key, mailbox key, and keep them all in the same (albeit hidden) place. Then, the day you lose your keys, you know you can get into your important places with your extra keys. I only have one of each of those keys, and know that I need to make copies, but that just gets added to my list of things I need to do.
~ Understand that you might have to wait. Bring your notebook, your pens, your paperback book, your cell phone and list of phone calls you need to make. Make them while you’re waiting (tactfully, please; no one needs to hear about how you need to have your annual exam while you’re on public transit!) and essentially multi-task!
