Ways to Lower Stress, IX

by

anger.jpgWe’re almost to 40 guys! How many stress relievers have you tried!?! Did anyone else dance the Hokey Pokey at work this week? Hehehe … have some more techniques!

~ Tell someone no. I have SUCH a problem with this, and actually did it this week. Someone asked me to go to dinner on Friday night, and I told them “no!? I had a dinner date tonight, I am going to the movies with Cav tomorrow night and then it’s Last Thursday on Thursday (duh) with Cav. I want Friday night to either be low-key (with Cav most likely) or no-key at all because I have Saturday night plans, too. Everyone needs a break. Take some time for yourself and learn to say “no, thanks!?

~ Take a bath. Take a bath and UNPLUG YOUR PHONE. My phone is my alarm clock, and so it’s always on, but if you want to really relax, put it on silence and IGNORE your phone. Seriously … no one will care if you spend an hour without your phone. Actually, normally no one will notice and you will get some REAL relaxation!

~ Find friends who don’t stress you out. I have a very close friend (Cav) who has this mind set of “don’t worry, it’ll work itself out? and she doesn’t stress out about things. When I get sad or overly stressed, she’s the first one to tell me simply “don’t be sad,? and normally we spend some time talking and I end up un-sad, or un-stressed, but her relaxed ideas have rubbed off on me and I’ve started to adopt that “don’t worry, it’ll work itself out? mindset!

~ Go to bed. Set a bedtime and follow it, no matter what else is going on, if your bedtime is 11pm, get in bed then. Get your 8 hours of sleep and watch your stress level lower! I promise you it works!
