Thanksgiving Story

by

This was probably the worst Thanksgiving I’ve had in a while.  I emerged from the bed all week only to go to the doctor on Monday, Urgent Care on Wednesday night and the Emergency Room on Thursday.  So, let’s just er…forget it, ok?

I am not a big veggie eater or "good for you food" eater for that matter but this year, I actually would have preferred that over what I actually had which was …nothing.  so, let’s just forget it, ok?

Let’s talk about last year when we chose to go to the beach.  We drove down on Wednesday night and our Thanksgiving Dinner took place in a restaurant where we all had fish.  Oh well, so turkey or fish, who’s keeping up with all that, right?

The kids spent the day on the beach flying kites and digging in the sand.  Then, on Friday we did the putt-putt golf thing and go-karts and other bits of fun and then back to the condo and the beach to play.

Saturday we watched the Iron Bowl, played on the beach and had more seafood…..who cares about turkey and left-over stuff…we had freshly cooked food that I didn’t have to fret over.

Now, that’s a great way to spend Thanksgiving.  I’d love to spend Christmas in Disney one day before the boys are too old, but we shall have to wait on that one and see.

The holidays are meant for mental and emotional rest and healing and trust me, last year was so relaxing and healing but this year, ugh, let’s just forget about it, ok?
