My Savings Account

I allot myself “10″ marbles a day. I spend those marbles however I want, but then have to pay for them. (Don’t remember my marble entry?) Last weekend I had 30 marbles … and I spent 50 of them. I then spent all week long earning back the marbles I had wasted. I overdid myself last week, to say the least.
This weekend, I managed to have a great time AND save some marbles!
On Friday I worked all day, let myself have the first pedicure I’ve had in over a year, then had a job interview, then went to my friend MissL’s house for a BBQ. Work was easy, the pedicure was a very-needed 1/2-an-hour, the job interview wasn’t too stressful (although I don’t think that I want the job now that I know more about it) and then MissL’s BBQ was fun. She taught me how to make earrings (I’ve worn them every day since I made them! LOL) and we shared a couple of drinks. When I got tired, I came home. I was asleep by 10:30pm and it felt great when I woke up at 8:30am on Saturday.
Yesterday I spent about 4 hours editing photographs and getting things prepared to answer some “I need a wedding photographer” CraigsList ads. I am getting braver about telling people that I’m a photographer and can handle their big moments, so hopefully a little extra income will come in thanks to this effort. We’ll see what happens! Around 5pm I headed to MamaCee’s house to watch her three boys for the evening. She and her husband were headed out for a friend’s birthday party and so I babysat and did four loads of laundry. I was home & in bed by midnight on Saturday night (Sunday morning?) and slept like a rock.
On Sunday I was up early (7:45am) and then for the first time in almost 6 years, went to church without being “dragged” by a friend. I took the step, went over to Portland’s Calvary Chapel and checked it out. Everyone was incredibly kind and friendly and I will be back next week! Afterwards I came home eat a huge salad (romaine, cukes, tomatoes, black olives & cheddar cheese) and clean up the apartment a bit. It really needs a good “deep” cleaning, but I’m going to save that for after I get my “new” (to me) couch & love seat.
This week I plan on continuing to conserve my marbles to see how many I can gather. I also plan on finding something public to run in. I have to tackle those short-term goals!!!

You have so much discipline. I wish I did.
