Mid-Week Me, ed 7
I’m trying very hard to get into regularly posting a mid-week me, have any of you notice?
Do any of you actually care?
I’ve done one of these before, and even done a list of 100 things about me, but I thought that I’d give you
6 Random Things About Me
1. I didn’t used to like Christmas. I don’t know why, but I haven’t ever been a huge fan, until this year. This year, there is something special going on with me and Christmas, and I can’t quite figure it out. I have a friend, J, who is totally into Christmas and I think it might be rubbing off on me this year. I’ve been singing along to Christmas music (which I used to hate) and have been enjoying the movies on TV. It might have something to do with the fact that VERY FEW of my friends/family are receiving gifts from me this year. I haven’t bought a single item for ANYONE this year, and I feel great about that. (I have offered my photography services instead.) Maybe my non-commercialization of Christmas is making it better, or maybe it’s just that I’m warming up to the idea of joy?
2. Along that same Chrsitmas-line, elves creep me out! LOL G & R have these elf-sized elves in the house that totally creep me out … I move them away from me … the just CREEP. Me. Out!
3. The first time I ever had morphine, I talked like a loon! “This makes me feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest but it doesn’t hurt it just feels good … did you know that I went to a circus when I was little and I saw an elephant there for the first time ever but I wasn’t scared and my gramma made me wear a yellow dress to the circus and I pour popcorn on myself and some of the butter stained the dress and I got in a lot of trouble I think I was grounded for a week and it wasn’t my fault because I was seven and I didn’t even buy the popcorn and gramma made me wear the dress.” I’m pretty sure I was entertaining to the nurse
4. I’m very close to my mom and my ex-husband’s mom. I tell both of them quite a bit about my life (my mom gets to hear more, I’m sure) and I am so thankful to have these women in my life. They are both amazingly strong, have been through intense lives and I’m so inspired by both of them.
5. In chronological order, the jobs I’ve wanted to hold in my life have been: doctor, writer, teacher, marine biologist, CIA intel officer, pharmacist, German teacher, photographer, educator, writer and doctor. Do you see a similarity as to my first jobs and the jobs I’ve wanted lately? Yes, I want to be a doctor, of the PhD variety, though.
6. If I had a choice, right now, between $25,000 and love, I would choose the money.
