Jobless & Depressed
“Losing a job is never easy, but how you cope once you’re handed that pink slip is more important than you may realize. Find out if you’re on the road to recovery (and a new job!) or at risk of experiencing depression, anxiety or even physical problems as a result of your situation. ” Take this quiz!
According to this quiz, I’m one day without a job and am depressed … unemployed and depressed already? Uhm, okay. Well, I love quizzes so I had to take it; but I don’t agree with the results. It gave me some stuff to think about at the end of the quiz, but it wasn’t incredibly indicative of my actual moods. I’m a bit stressed that I have bills to pay (and rent to hand my roommate) but I know that I have options. I am interviewing tomorrow (as well as volunteering, which will make me feel better) but it’s still a weird situation to be in.
I have also been incredibly sick. Last Tuesday I started feeling worn down and like I was catching something. On Wednesday I didn’t go in to work. On Thursday I only made it through half of the day. On Friday, my last day on the job, I had a fever of 102.4 and ended up coming home to get in bed. I felt like I had been hit by a truck, so when MissPee offered me some cold medication I took it. Well, little did either of us realize, it had guaifenesin in it … and I am highly allergic to the stuff. It sent me into anaphylatic shock and we had to rush to the ER for six hours. I am okay now, but am still trying to get rid of my cough. Since I am allergic to the expectorants in cough medicine, I invested in some garlic tablets and some honey and will be natually expectoring mucus from my lungs. What fun!
Know what else has been fun? This whole “future-posting” stuff I’ve been doing. I knew I was going to be really stressed out by getting sick and having job interviews and whatnot, so I set up all of my stress posts three days in advance. I am now able to get these posts out by 10am on each day because I’m cool like that. : )
