Goal Setting, II
Onto the rest of my short-term goals to push me towards my long-term goals.
I want to write for the Portland, Oregon blog, so I need to take ONE step to get that started.
Short Term Goals
- email 451press.com to let them know
- send a sample with something about Portland attached
(no, really, this one is really easy!)
Since I am feeling really insane about my finances, I want to have them in written order before school starts. I also want to have them under control.
Short Term Goals
- write down exactly how much I owe & who I owe it to
- talk to the counselors at CCC about whether their program is for me
- keep an Excel spreadsheet organized with my finances in it (keep track!)
- create a budget (anyone have any suggestions on a program or formula I could use?)
I have had the materials for over a year now, but I haven’t mastered knitting yet. This is something I feel like I need to do just to keep myself busy.
Short Term Goals
- dig out the knitting materials
- re-read some of Stich N Bitch
- meet up with Jenn to get a lesson
- knit a scarf!
Keeping my house clean is also something that is really important to me. I haven’t been able to do so since I started taking my Zoloft. Since I’ve been off the Zoloft I’ve had much more motivation to keep things put together. I want to get back on this!
Short Term Goals
- make a general list of things to do currently in the house
- tackle that list
- keep a notebooked list of things I can do around the house (I’ve started this)
- do a thorough cleaning as things get started and then make it easier to keep up with it
I have a job interview today at 4pm (West coast time!) so if you have any extra positive vibes over to Oregon!

I swear, we’re living parallel lives. I’ve been focusing on writing, money and knitting, too. For real!
My mom helped me get set up in Quicken this weekend. I think it will help us keep much better track of our budget and where we’re at with money at any given moment.
Stitch ‘N Bitch is such a wonderful reference. It has answered every single question I’ve had about learning to knit. And so many cool projects, too.
