You know that feeling…when you know you’ve done something good…
Thursday, May 7th, 2009Last week sometime, I ran upon a photo my the coach of my kids tball team. Here’s the post that I wrote and honestly, thought nothing more about it. I wrote the truth, I knew it was the truth and life was good. I even titled the post “I”m not the mooshy kind but role models are really important” And, honestly, this is one of those situations where I forget that any locals ever read what I write. I’ve been featured in the paper a few times here but nothing ever big and fancy. So, when someone calls me out on something I’ve written (and trust me it hasn’t always been pretty, but lessons learned, let me tell you), my first instinct is to think “OH CRAP”
And, even tonight, I knew that what I had written was good and suitable and I don’t mind them reading it one bit. Because the truth is, this man has put a smile on my face everytime I see him. We have gone to a burger joint and let the kids play some and he always jumps right in and acts if he enjoys it as much as the kids do.
But tonight, with her arm draped around me, his wife had tears in her eyes when she was telling me about it and said that her husband almost cried reading it. I asked how they had managed to get their hands on it and lo and behold, one of the sweetest little girls that every worked for me and probably the only one who doesn’t go around telling garbage (even if some of the garbage is true – she knows there is no reason to rehash and start trouble) works with the coaches daughter-in-law (it’s confusing because Pop Pop is the man I’m talking about and his son is one of the coaches and he has 2 grandsons on the team) but anyway, his daughter-in-law printed the post out and took it to her husbands family to read.
Ok, I know this is getting long so I’m going to give it a whirl and continue tomorrow….got it…don’t forget to come back for the rest of this story.
