5 Things that Relax Me
Earlier I wrote a post about being away from my house specifically to relax, and it prompted the beginnings of a mental list of things that relax me. I’m going to see how many I can get listed and keep these in mind during finals week next term!

1. taking a hot bath - if I take a book I leave the lights on, but if I don’t feel like reading, I love to fill my (rather small) bathroom with candles and just lay there
2. reading a book - I use books as an escape, I can go on daily mini-vacations with books. I’m currently working my way through A Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar, and while it’s a topic that normally would stress me out, I’m enjoying a personal experience through schizophrenia.
3. listening to Keith & the Girl - I have talked about these guys before … and they never fail to make me laugh. I am laughing to them right now as I’m typing … haven’t heard them yet? Go to iTunes and CHECK. THEM. OUT!
4. write - writing about most everything seems to relax me, except politics and some school papers, writing emails to people especially relaxes me
5. listening to music - I love music, and most music seems to cool me down. I listen to music when I work out, music as I’m falling asleep (well, I haven’t done either of these since my iPod died, but still) and music while I’m writing. It calms me down and gives me some good background noise.

Thanks Kiwi - maybe one day you’ll get to take a bath in the next 18 years without hearing “MOOOOOOOOM” over and over! LOL

I think holiday music can be especially relaxing. Like the Nutcracker. Sigh, I could listen to that 24/7 into 2008!
